Malcolm Padraig Austin was born on October 1, 2008 entering the world a few minutes after his identical twin brother Lachlan. Malcolm was a joyful little boy with a witty sense of humour. He had a passion for life that included cooking, dancing, singing and making music, playing super heroes with his brother, and playing with his much adored big sister Maggie. Malcolm’s favourite place to be was in the outdoors fishing, camping, climbing rocks, gardening, and riding his bike. He had a tender and kind heart. On the afternoon of he and his brother’s 6th birthday he was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Malcolm’s faith never wavered and as his cancer progressed over the next 11 months, he asked Jesus to take him home to Heaven and make him whole again. He made us promise that we would come soon to join him. Malcolm ran ahead of us on August 25, 2015 at the tender age of 6 and will be fiercely loved and missed until we meet again. If we could have one dream come true it would be for no child to ever be diagnosed with DIPG again.
